Rosacea Research

Red LED light therapy appears to be effective due to the anti-inflammatory action of red wavelengths. It is theorised that rosacea is a flushing disorder that is further complicated by an inflammatory response, effecting facial vasculature and ultimately papule production. Red LED therapy, acting as an anti-inflammatory on the facial vasculature, will therefore reverse the disorder.

Mary Read Ltd have been producing red and blue light therapy for the treatment of acne for 6 years, with great results. We have, (on request), sold all red tubes (660nm) for the treatment of rosacea and spider veins during this period and have indeed found red light treatment to be an effective treatment for both conditions.

Therefore, due to advances in LED technology, we have now produced an affordable LED treatment unit, the ‘britebox revive’ (633nm & 830nm) for the treatment of spider veins and rosacea. The advantages of LEDs over traditional fluorescent light boxes are in that they produce coherent wavelengths with effective intensities. This means that red LED treatment is more effective and can be used within your home without having to use expensive clinics. In addition to this, the britebox revive has the added benefit of skin rejuvenation!
